Gimpel redecorates. 12-23-1914
I don't know what the word karobke (korobke karabke korabke) means. Maybe it's related to karapken zikh (make one's way with great effort) or to korobke (box; community tax, especially on kosher meat)
December 23, 1914: When one wants it to be pretty in the house, one should expect trouble.
- Painter: Say, lads, don't mess with this or you'll be lying in the cemetery.
