Gimpel suffers more PTSD after his stint on the battlefields of World War I 12-2-1914

I think Samuel Zagat and Louis B. Miller must have known people back from the battlefield, because their repeated references to Gimpel's startled reactions to loud noises ring true to life. And note the "Katzenjammer Kids" style spanking again.

December 2, 1914: The war war hinders him even here in his business.
  1. Notke: Let's make a submarine out of Dad's chair, with a battle ship. It'll be just like in the war.
  2. GB: I tell you, Jake, she's a girl with all the good qualities. A prince wouldn't be good enough for her.
  3. ...
  4. ...
  5. GB: How many times have I told you not to imitate the swinish Germans and their war?
