A matchmaker is a little like a real estate broker (he's just peddling different wares). There is always the possibility that there'll be an end run around him, especialy in the modern world of the Lower East Side.
December 14, 1914: Sometimes music is stronger than love.
- GB: Get to know each other, children, and we'll soon talk of important matters.
- GB: Now there's a golden dove. We'll be able to break plates today.
- GB: It's going well, the boy is not a chump.
- The boy: Come, we'll play the composition, it's fine music.

דער בחור: קומט, װעלען מיר איבערשפּיעלען דיא קאָמפּאָזיציע. עס איז פֿײַנע מוזיק.

גימפּעל בײניש: איך האָב שטענדיג פֿײַנט געהאַט קלעזמער. נו, איז דאָס אַ כּלב, אַ שונא ישראל.
