Encounter with a Chinaman and a shy bridegroom 1-14-1915, 1-15-1915

In the second strip we see a Yinglishism which was very common in Gimpel's set. פּליז טו-מיטשו
Pliz tu-mitshu (Pleased to meet you).

January 14, 1915: Of course it's wrapped - what could the Chinaman have said to surprise him so?

January 15, 1915: Beware of shy bridegrooms.
  1. GB: Come, blockhead, why are you embarrassed? Nobody's going to eat you up.
  2. GB: Hello, Suzy! I have the pleasure to introduce, pleased to meetshu - Jake.
  3. Suzy: Oh, so you're shy? I'm shy too. It's so...
  4. Jake: Look, feet. Not one, not two, not three. And where there are feet...
  5. Jake: There must be people. I'm out of here, have a good life.
