A lesson in 1915 fashion (horn rimmed glasses), and the best political cartoon of Nicholas II to date. 2-4-1915

Today's Yinglish: "staylish" "regele" "leydi" ...

February 4, 1915: Well, who can call him old fashioned?
  1. What kind of a horror is this? Glasses like a ram's horn.
  2. Him too! It's a regular epidemic of some kind.
  3. Am I dreaming? Ladies, too?
  4. Well, if the whole world's gone crazy no sense being the only wise one.
  5. Now let somebody try to say Gimpel Beynish is not stylish.

February 4, 1915: Nikolai's bath attendants in Europe and America
On his coat: Blood libel, Siberia, rage in Galicia, pogroms, rage against Jews. The three bath attendants are French socialists, American correspondents, and English journalists. The caption reads: How French socialists, English journalists and American correspondents give the bloody hangman a bath, washing him clean of all his crimes.
