Gimpel disapproves, naturally, of love at first sight. 3-1-1915

Here we see the inroads that modern times were making on the matchmaking business. When a fellow chooses his own bride, Gimpel misses out. Love matches and loose behaviour, whatever next!

March 1, 1915: A match can make itself without him.
  1. GB: I tell you what, forget this one, I have a bride for you.
  2. GB: Don't be a blockhead and don't look where you shouldn't.
  3. Jake: I really like her. I want her for a bride. I'll go...
  4. GB: What good is she to you, when I've already chosen the correct princess for you?
  5. GB: Woe is me! Just look how far he's gotten with her already!
